How to act like Mac Finder when double clicking a folder?

When double clicking a folder in Mac Finder with 2nd view option (horizontal strips icon), it browses into that folder and gives a fresh new treegrid with just the contents inside the folder. I wonder if it's possible to use easyui treegrid to behave similarly as that? I guess the specific questions would be:
1) is it possible to render a completely different dataset without re-creating the treegrid, and at the same time cache the data from the previous treegrids? otherwise retrieving data from server every time when going back to previous treegrids would be painful...
2) if there's no good solution for caching data, is it possible to create more than one treegrid and manage them? will it cause any memory issue if new treegrids keeps being created, and what would be the best way to manage those treegrids?
Thank you for the help!
